Celebrant Services
I am a qualified Civil Celebrant conducting semi/non-religious funeral ceremonies in Sutton Coldfield.

I was initially drawn to working as a funeral celebrant after organising and attending my father’s funeral service. Even though the time for me and my family was sad, I came away feeling uplifted by seeing the lighter side of the funeral service. My dad did not like black, so his funeral was not a sombre affair but one of celebration as he is now with the angels. It felt right to me, with my work as a spiritual teacher and healer, to become a Celebrant. I felt I could help the families say goodbye to their loved one. The funeral service is special as it is a way to celebrate the person life. Even though it is a sad occasion; It is also a time for loved ones and friends to share their memories and remember them.

Several months later, whilst talking to one of my students, she suggested I would be an ideal person as a celebrant. She felt with my spiritual beliefs, my compassionate and empathy to others, I would be perfect to work as a celebrant. And so, my journey began. After qualifying and with the encouragement and support from a local Funeral Directors, I am now ready to help others.

If you are recently bereaved, or faced with a terminal illness, I will gently support and guide you and your family through the process of writing a funeral service. I will help you to plan the service to reflect your wishes and do all I can to support you. I will meet with you and your family to discuss the qualities that made your loved one unique and special. Then we will give some thought as to how you would like to say goodbye.
I am happy to arrange the service to include religious content and make the occasion unique. The service can be in a traditional or spiritual format of your choosing. I like to emphasize that the service is a way of Celebrating their life and to help leave joyful memories to take forward into the future.
If you’d like to chat to me, without obligation, please call on 07798 165102.

WHAT IS A CELEBRANT?
A celebrant is a person who performs and officiate ceremonies, marking important event, such as a wedding, or funeral. Booking a celebrant means that the ceremony you want with the vows, readings, music, can be personalised to what the family or individuals would like.
Celebrants are different from Vicars, priests or other ordained, ministers and clerics in that they tend not to have a religious link. A marriage memorial ceremony led by celebrant tend to do away with traditional ceremonies. People who request a celebrant are usually non-religious or spiritual people.
The aim of the celebrant is to lead the ceremony in a personal way that reflects the rituals, values, and viewpoints of their clients, beliefs, and personal preferences.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CELEBRANT AND A REGISTRAR
Celebrants do not have the authority to make a marriage legally binding.
Registrars are responsible for registering details of all births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships. A registrar is employed by the local authority and the ceremonies. They conduct a legally binding. By law, a ceremony conducted by a registrar must take place in the registry, office or licensed premises. Whereas a celebrant as an independent person may do the service at a location of the clients choosing. But the celebrant service is not legally binding. For example, couples who are married by celebrant must also register their married in a registry office before or after the wedding ceremony, if they want to make the union official.
